Private IP Addresses

The IP Address 192.168.1.101 belongs to the range of IP addresses commonly used on home computer networks having Linksys routers.

One of the computers network will usually by default get assigned 192.168.1.101 automatically via a router's DHCP configuration. For Linksys routers, the numbering starts one number earlier, at 192.168.1.100 by default. Therefore, the first computer you connect to the router will get this address, and the second one will get 192.168.1.101 , etc.

192.168.1.101 is a private IP address. You will not find any hosts on the Internet with this address. If you see messages from your network router pointing to 192.168.1.101, then you know that it is coming from (or going to) your own home network.
